Clay for external use

For external application, we use clay poultices.

It has an antibacterial and healing action on wounds. Very effective for injuries as it cleans the wound by drawing out dirt and bacteria, prevents inflammation and potential infections, soothes pain, and promotes rapid healing.

Also effective for burns, it acts in the same way as on a wound. It calms the pain and prevents blistering.

For our horses with delicate skin, it soothes sunburn! 

As I mentioned earlier, as a poultice, clay also acts on deeper tissues. It is therefore used for sprains, it relieves muscle soreness and is a very good drainer in cases of engorgement, effective for various skin problems… These are just a few examples among many others!

Clay for internal use

For internal use, clay can be given with water to drink. Either the water alone, once the clay has settled at the bottom (but rather to be used to purify the water our horses drink), or the mixture of water and clay, which has a stronger action.

Clay helps cleanse the body internally. It detoxifies. This is why it can be interesting to give your horse a clay cure in spring or at any other change of season to help cleanse the body. In addition, it can help fill mineral deficiencies, as the minerals present in clay are assimilable by the body.

Clay is effective in cases of inflammation and infections, whether internal or external. 

Internal clay is recommended in cases of diarrhea, which it helps to stop, as well as in cases of ulcers, where it acts as a dressing, in addition to promoting tissue healing.
