Avocado was well known to the Aztecs and indigenous people of Central America, who used it in cosmetics to protect their faces from drying winds. Legend has it that indigenous people also used it on their hair to promote growth. Avocado oil is extracted from the pulp of the avocado fruit. This oil is traditionally used for its softening and protective properties for the skin. It has also been shown to promote cell regeneration (oil used in anti-wrinkle preparations). The elastic properties of the skin are improved after regular use of this oil.
